For Tech Jobs, Dice is Mandatory for Your Job Search

Dice has an Alexa rating of 1,321 – which is far less than the other major job posting sites. However, this is still an excellent rating, indicating major traffic, especially since it specializes only in technology positions. Hands down, it's the premier site for information technology jobs.

It has a pretty straightforward search screen and while you have to sign up to post a resume, it's not necessary just to search.

It also has a nice option to search by company. It returns an alphabetical list of companies and you can click on a company name to see their job openings. BUT – these are only openings the companies have posted on Dice, not all the openings at that company, so be careful to also check the company web site.

For example, I recently checked the openings shown for Microsoft at Dice and it showed 47 openings in Redmond, Washington. A search on the Microsoft web site for job openings in Redmond showed 73 openings just in the "Game Design" category and IT Operations showed 273 openings. There are dozens of other categories on the Microsoft web site with openings, so Dice contains only a small number and these are likely to be the high demand jobs that are hard for Microsoft to fill.

As an IT hiring manager (which I currently am), this is the most expensive site to post openings, at $429 and up. However, for specific hard to find experience, it's the best site to use. If I advertise a job elsewhere and get low results, I can frequently search for resumes here (for a fee, of course!) and find many more.

If you have a high demand IT skill set, you definitely want to post your resume on Dice. You may find that you don't even have to look elsewhere – several employers may contact you.
